Our Story
Bay Street Creations is co-owned and operated by Puyallup Tribal Member Anita Dillon and her wife Amy Dillon. Anita was born and raised on the Puyallup Tribe's Reservation in Tacoma, WA. Anita spent countless of her favorite childhood memories in the early 1990's in a huge grass field in front of what she knew as the Puyallup Tribal Administration building (historically named the Cushman Indian Hospital or Cascadia). Every year that grass field hosted the Puyallup Tribe’s “Firecracker Alley”, the Puyallup Tribe’s Labor Day Pow-Wows, and many other tribal events. The loop around that field is where Anita first learned to drive a car at about 12 years old. That memory filled property is located along “E. Bay St.” in Tacoma, WA.
Coincidentally in 2009, Anita met her future wife Amy at the Emerald Queen Casino property located along E. Bay St. Anita later learned that Amy had also visited the Puyallup Tribe’s Firecracker Alley as a child in that same grass field and slid down that same steep hill on cardboard boxes. These are the reasons why we chose to name our company “Bay Street Creations”. It holds very personal memories for both of us and is the inspiration behind our company naming.
